Safety Moment: Mid-Winter Tire Check
Now we have a few months of winter under our belts. The Coalition For Safer Alberta Roads would like to remind you of some steps you can tak...
The Coalition For Safer Alberta Roads is focused on reducing collisions and fatalities on roads throughout Alberta, with a particular spotlight on Highways 40, 46, 63 and 881. The average driver often tends to only think about safe driving after a serious collision, or during poor weather, but it is abundantly clear that the time for safe driving is EVERY TIME we get behind the wheel.
The numbers provided to us by the Alberta Department of Transportation tells a very sobering tale. From 2012-2016, our focused highways have seen a staggering amount of fatal collisions, and an even higher number of injury collisions. Highways 40 and 43 in particular have seen almost 4,000 collisions, with nearly 50 of them being fatal.
Take a look at this graphic, and please share it on social media and amongst your friends and family. Our goal is to see everyone drive to zero every day, and we can’t do that without your help and advocacy.
